Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Fabric Engineer to join our team at Integral UK. As a Fabric Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out reactive maintenance repairs across our contract portfolio, liaising with site-based technicians and approved contractors, and providing technical advice when required.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To carry out routine and emergency maintenance repairs to building fabric, including decorating, replacing door furniture, lock replacements, floor repairs, basic carpentry, roof repairs, gutter cleaning, basic plumbing, and basic electrical work.
  • To assess and order parts and equipment necessary for individual tasks, ensuring that all work is carried out to recognized industry standards.
  • To participate in flexible working hours and out-of-hours emergency cover as required by the contract, including working at weekends and in the evenings.
  • To undertake training as required to perform the duties of the role, including health and safety courses and further trade development, to maintain current knowledge and professional qualifications.
  • To assist other trades as/when required, and to undertake any other duties as directed by Managers within the remit of the role.
  • To ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with company QA and site procedures, and that both client and Integral's Health and Safety procedures are followed at all times.
  • To inspect the condition of services and proactively deal with call outs/repairs as required and/or requested by management.
  • To keep and maintain all company issued tools in a safe and working condition.

Requirements:

  • Trade background and qualifications (recognized qualification or apprenticeship).
  • Extensive knowledge in building fabric services.
  • Extensive knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations.
  • Ability to act on own initiative.
  • Smart appearance, presentable.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working within a team environment, able to contribute to team success while following instructions.
  • Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised.
  • Adaptable and flexible approach to work requirements, willing to accept change.

Additional Information:

This is a static role that would suit an individual who can work using their own initiative and has a proactive approach to undertake all tasks required. The successful applicant will also be required to undertake and obtain an Enhanced DBS (CRB) check during the first month of commencement of employment, and participate in an out of hours on call rota.
