Contract Scotland is seeking a skilled Senior Site Engineer to join our esteemed client, a prominent civil engineering contractor, for an immediate engagement on a significant project in Islay.

This role presents a fantastic opportunity for candidates with a robust background in civil engineering, specifically within the water or marine sectors.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee site operations and conduct safety inductions.
  • Establish line and level for construction.
  • Lead daily briefings with site operatives and subcontractors.
  • Execute quality assurance inspections.
  • Develop and uphold Inspection & Test Plans and Records.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and project targets.
  • Monitor on-site activities to confirm compliance with project specifications.
  • Conduct supplier visits as necessary.
  • Organize and maintain quality assurance documentation in accordance with internal systems.
  • Track and manage project documents and drawings using proprietary systems.
  • Review subcontractor performance against site progress.


What We Offer:
  • Immediate start with an initial contract of 4-5 weeks, with the possibility of extending.
  • Competitive daily remuneration ranging from £300 to £360 (Gross), based on experience.

Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday 07:00 – 19:00
Saturday & Sunday 07:00 – 17:30
Working every second weekend

Accommodation and ferry costs are covered.

Payment Options:
PAYE or CIS.

Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience in civil engineering projects, particularly in water or marine sectors.
  • Marine experience is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel to various sites as required.
  • Possession of a full UK driving license and personal transport.
  • Valid CSCS Card, SMSTS, and First Aid certification are mandatory.
