Job Title: Civil Design Engineer

Aldwych Consulting Ltd is seeking a skilled Civil Design Engineer to join their team in Gloucester. As a Civil Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing infrastructure projects, including drainage, service, road infrastructure, and earthworks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop infrastructure projects, including drainage, service, road infrastructure, and earthworks.
  • Prepare associated drawings from concept stage through to construction.
  • Conduct Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Statements, and Service Strategy Reports.
  • Design and detail works associated with highway agreements and drainage consents.
  • Site audits and feasibility assessments.
  • Grow civil engineering expertise and maintain client relationships.
  • Manage and lead team members in undertaking technical work and report writing.
Requirements:
  • Relevant degree and at least one year of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience writing reports, such as Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Statements.
  • Experience preparing drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Experience carrying out design of foul and surface water drainage systems using MicroDrainage.
  • Experience using ground modelling software for design of horizontal/vertical alignment, earthworks, etc.
  • Experience of negotiations with highway authorities, drainage authorities, and Environment Agency.
  • Knowledge of national guidance, such as Design Manual for Roads and Bridges.
