About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprentice to join our team at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprentice, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist registered practitioners in delivering healthcare services, carrying out a range of clinical and non-clinical healthcare or therapeutic tasks under their supervision.
- Provide high-quality, compassionate healthcare, following standards, policies, or protocols, and always acting within the limits of your competence and the needs of the department.
- Maintain high clinical standards in line with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers.
- Help maintain a clean and safe ward environment.
- Work towards the on-programme requirements of the Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship Standard after a period of learning within a healthcare environment.
Person Specification
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs grade A-C (9-3) must include English and Maths.
- Desirable: A-level education, Care Certificate.
- Essential: Previous health or social care experience (preferably in a healthcare setting).
About Us
We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck, and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed. We also care for people in their homes and provide services from facilities in local communities. Our goal is to provide high-quality patient care and give people greater choice and control over their care to help them live independently at home and avoid hospital admission where appropriate.
