Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Powertrain Integration/Component Engineer to join our team at Recruitment Bunker. As a key member of our powertrain team, you will be responsible for working with external suppliers and our packaging team to specify and design powertrain systems and components across a range of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Quality and Safety Management: Manage and follow the quality, health, safety, and environmental policies of the company.
  2. Design and Project Engineering: Manage tasks with design and project engineering support within the powertrain team.
  3. Collaboration and Liaison: Work closely with the Design Engineering team and the packaging team to ensure seamless integration of powertrain systems.
  4. Powertrain Design and Development: Specification and design of powertrain as installed systems and components.
  5. Supplier Management: Liaison with suppliers to supply parts to internally developed specifications and designs.
  6. Integration and Sign-off: Manage integration and sign-off of powertrain systems to meet vehicle programme targets.
  7. Purchasing Support: Support the purchasing team by providing technical content for RFQs and technical evaluation of commercial offerings.
  8. Engineering Analysis: Work closely with the Engineering Analysis team (FEA) to meet design targets and drive the most cost-effective solutions.
  9. Manufacturing Collaboration: Work closely with Manufacturing to agree feasible manufacturing solutions and to control the engineering change process. Ensure Design for Manufacture (DFM) philosophy is integrated into designs.
  10. Programme Support: Support the Programme team to ensure project deliverables are achieved.
  11. Communication and Teamwork: Maintain communication with internal and external customers and stakeholders on a regular basis and always support your team.
Requirements
  1. Engineering Degree: Engineering degree or equivalent within a relevant subject.
  2. Powertrain Experience: Experience of design and development of one or more major powertrain as installed components or systems (Cooling, Air intake, Exhaust, Fuel, Driveline, etc.).
  3. Flexibility and Adaptability: Ability to work flexibly within the role and adapt to the varying level of involvement required to support individual systems.
  4. Design Knowledge: Confidence to advocate design solutions to the engineering team and to push for the right solution with an understanding of the compromises required.
  5. Communication Skills: Strong communication skills and ability to work efficiently within your role.
  6. Organisational Skills: Excels in organisational skills and time management.
  7. Drive to Learn: A drive to learn and improve at every opportunity.
  8. Teamwork: Willingness to support others and positive attitude towards mastering challenges and changes.
  9. Work Permit: Must have IDLR/Full Rights to Work in UK - Sponsorship or Work Permits will not be accepted/provided.
