Job Title: Nurse Manager

Join Charles River Community Health as a Nurse Manager and play a key role in shaping the future of primary care nursing. As a member of our dynamic team, you will be responsible for training, supervising, and supporting a team of staff nurses and medical assistants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing, Associate Director of Clinical Operations, and Associate Medical Director/Medical Director to ensure smooth patient flow and daily clinical operations at the sites.
  • Direct care areas include primary care, lab, and healthcare satellite extensions.
  • Guide, mentor, and train new staff (RN, MA's) and ensure all staff have ongoing clinical support and in-services to stay up to date in their field.
  • Ensure the team is ready for audits and inspections.
  • Responsible for weekly schedule edits in response to any last-minute changes, including changes in staffing ratios and sick calls, and ensure appropriate Provider/Nurse/Medical Assistant ratios and coverage.
  • Maintain nursing/medical assistant guidelines by writing, evaluating, and updating policies and procedures.
  • Maintain nursing operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing workflows, operational and personnel policies, and procedures.
  • Site Vaccine Manager, overseeing, coordinating, and tracking vaccine inventory and vaccination rates.
  • Work closely with HR on performance improvement plans and other personnel matters as needed.
  • Manage inventory and purchasing of medical supplies for the essential functioning of the practice.
  • Support the maintenance and functioning of the medical equipment to ensure a safe patient and staff environment while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and laws.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Nursing, work on recruitment and retention of our mission-driven staff.
  • Contribute to the development of future nursing leaders by coordinating preceptorship for nursing students from area colleges and universities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing required, Master's preferred.
  • Licensed in Massachusetts as a Registered Nurse with 3+ years of experience in nursing with recent clinical experience in an outpatient medical setting.
  • Leadership experience preferred, including evaluation, performance management, and training.
  • Must have knowledge of Ambulatory and clinical practices, workflows, and operations.
  • Good communication skills, particularly with staff and patients from diverse cultures whose primary language is not English.
  • Willingness to support training needs for students, internships, and preceptorships, as requested.
  • Experience with Patient Centered Medical Home model and concepts preferred.
