Make a Difference for Every Patient
Practice Plus Group is seeking a highly skilled and organized Patient Admissions - Healthcare Assistant to join our Theatre team at the Royal South Hants hospital in Southampton. This is a permanent position, working a 4-day week with shift patterns from Monday to Saturday.
Main Responsibilities- Ensure effective pre-operative case management, co-ordination, and administration tasks leading up to and including the day of surgery.
- Perform calls to patients 72 hours before they are due for surgery to confirm their readiness and preparedness.
- Prepare clinical files 72-48 hours in advance to prevent delays and ensure all necessary information is available.
- Collate pathology and radiology reports, and maintain accurate medical files.
- Communicate effectively with Theatre staff, Consultants, Nurses, and other administration staff to ensure seamless patient care.
This is an ideal opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant with strong administration skills and experience in managing patient pathways. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, ensuring every step of every administration process is covered from start to finish.
You will be an effective communicator at all levels, both written and verbal, with strong IT skills and the ability to pick up new systems easily. You will also be competent working with personal information and sensitive data, and familiar with GDPR regulations.
