About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Patient Admissions Coordinator to join our Theatre team at the Royal South Hants hospital, Southampton.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a patient's pathway is smooth and efficient, from pre-operative case management to co-ordination and administration tasks on the day of surgery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform effective pre-operative case management, co-ordination and administration tasks leading up to and including the day of surgery.
  • Ensure patients are ready and prepared for surgery, confirming due times for arrival to the hospital.
  • Prepare clinical files 72 hours in advance to prevent delays, admitting patients and providing them with pre-operation prep on the day of surgery.
  • Collate pathology and radiology reports, ensuring all notes are maintained to set standards and checking medical files noting if patient pre-assessments and related scans are present.

Requirements

  • Experience in a similar role, managing and ensuring a patient's pathway, appointments and smooth clinical operation.
  • Strong administration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, Theatre staff, Consultants, Nurses and other administration staff.
  • Ability to work with personal information and sensitive data, with a strong understanding of GDPR regulations.
