Role Overview:

In this role, you will be responsible for developing current and future vehicle programs and simulation methodologies, performing CFD setup, analysis and correlation of aeroacoustic simulations. You will work on several aspects of the car, both internally and externally, at component, system and vehicle level, with the ultimate goal of optimising performance and improving the user experience.

  • Develop and maintain current and future CFD capabilities
  • Perform external and internal aeroacoustics CFD simulations and provide design recommendations throughout the design phase to progress vehicle programs
  • Present CFD results and recommendations to program teams globally
  • Correlate CFD results to acoustic wind tunnel data on prototype and production vehicles
  • Attend acoustic wind tunnel tests in China where required to assist with correlation or program development
  • Maintain and develop procedures for performing various analytical wind noise processes
  • Provide support to other CFD areas where required

Qualifications / Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, in Aeroacoustics, CFD, Aerospace or Aerodynamics
  • Experience of CFD within industry. Higher experience levels are welcome and will be recognized
  • Hands-on experience of Simulia PowerFLOW and ANSA preferred
  • Ability to understand and/or write Python code beneficial

A knowledge of and enthusiasm for (or belief in) the sector of the industry in which NIO operates

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
