The Design and Conservation Planner will be part of the Design, Conservation and Transport team in the Planning and Growth Division at Southwark Council. The team is responsible for writing policy, conducting research, monitoring, and partnership working, as well as collaborating with consultants. They also work on the Local Plan and provide advice on strategic and major applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process design and conservation planning applications

Requirements

  • Design and/or heritage qualification
  • Knowledge of planning policy and design considerations
  • Understanding of strategic planning issues
  • Ability to interpret complex issues and translate them into development management policies
