This position operates on a shift basis, totaling 48 hours per week, inclusive of breaks. Role Responsibilities

The Ministry of Defence Guard Service (MGS) is committed to providing high-quality security solutions across more than 170 MOD locations throughout the UK. With over 30 years of experience, we have secured prestigious sites, including the MOD Main Building and His Majesty’s Naval Bases. Our services encompass access control, military working dogs, control room operations, and various other security functions. We play a pivotal role in supporting the Defence Mission, ensuring the safety of the Defence estate and its personnel.

Our Security Officers often serve as the first point of contact for employees, visitors, and contractors, and we take pride in fostering a professional, customer-centric culture. Key Responsibilities

The primary duty of our Security Officers is to ensure the safety and security of Defence personnel, visitors, and property. Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the safety and security of designated areas.
  • Conducting foot and vehicle patrols in accordance with established security protocols.
  • Identifying and addressing potential security threats.
  • Managing access control for vehicles and pedestrians, ensuring proper credentials are presented.
  • Conducting searches of vehicles, personnel, and premises as required.
  • Managing traffic flow effectively.
  • Documenting incidents and maintaining daily logs.
  • Responding promptly to emergencies and incidents.
  • Assisting personnel and visitors with inquiries.
  • Escalating emergencies to law enforcement when necessary.
  • Operating and monitoring security systems, including CCTV and alarms.

Licensing Requirements

A Full Manual UK Driving Licence is required for this position.
