The Shared Services Partnership is seeking to enhance our Safer Roads and Parking Team within the Traffic and Safety Group. We invite skilled and enthusiastic individuals to contribute to the development of our communities.

Role Responsibilities:

This is a remarkable opportunity to become part of a dynamic team dedicated to maintaining safe and efficient roadways.

The Safer Roads and Parking team is tasked with overseeing the highway network and implementing strategies to minimize accidents and manage traffic flow.

As an Engineering Assistant, your role will involve supporting the Safer Roads and Parking team in managing both permanent and temporary Traffic Regulation Orders, as well as evaluating notifications for abnormal vehicle movements. This will require collaboration with external partners such as law enforcement and various internal teams. While prior administrative experience is beneficial, comprehensive training will be provided.

We are looking for candidates who can work independently, meet deadlines, and provide thorough administrative and technical assistance to the service. We welcome applications from individuals eager to join a successful team focused on road safety and community engagement.

This position is advertised as full-time; however, we are open to considering part-time applications and flexible working arrangements.

Apprenticeship Opportunity:

This role may also be offered as an apprenticeship, with the expectation that the successful candidate will complete a Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship.

The selected individual will participate in training and complete an 18-month apprenticeship to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, and competencies as outlined in the Level 3 Business Administrator standard.
