Submarine Network Operations Lead

Microsoft seeks a Submarine Operations Manager to oversee and optimize our subsea infrastructure investments.
This role demands a skilled individual with a background in engineering or communications infrastructure, coupled with exceptional executive communication abilities. You will collaborate closely with global teams and vendors to ensure the success of our submarine network systems.
Responsibilities:
- Align with Microsoft's network investment and commercial strategies.
- Develop long-term partnerships with key vendors.
- Plan, communicate, and execute system upgrade budgets.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all matters concerning Microsoft-owned cable systems and infrastructure.
- Collaborate with global legal teams to ensure contract clarity and compliance.
- Establish a centralized repository for information related to Microsoft's subsea programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Communications Infrastructure, or a related field.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively at the executive level, with strong organizational and presentation skills.
- Experience in budgeting and financial management at an executive level.
- Demonstrated expertise in contract organization, risk assessment, and priority setting.
- Experience planning, budgeting, and executing subsea operations and maintenance programs.
- Commercial and operational experience in subsea or terrestrial fiber optic networks.
- Proven track record of managing backhaul access planning programs and relationships.
- Ability to work effectively with teams across different time zones.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
