Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to join our team at ADM. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratories, including coordinating and documenting analysis of incoming samples, maintaining equipment, and adhering to laboratory procedures and work instructions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and document analysis of incoming samples across various laboratories.
  • Responsible for goods in/out, including receiving, storing, and issuing laboratory supplies and equipment.
  • Follow laboratory procedures and work instructions to ensure consistent and reliable results.
  • Maintain equipment to ensure it is fit for purpose and coordinate maintenance with contractors.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the food and beverage laboratories, ensuring good housekeeping practices and adhering to cleaning schedules, GLP, and GMP.
  • Work to a high standard of safety and cleanliness, taking responsibility for your own personal safety and that of others in the area.
  • Liaise with other departments to minimize process interruptions.
  • Undertake various laboratory tasks as directed.
  • Assist in maintaining stock levels and preparing food and beverage samples for internal and external use.
  • Coordinate and carry out analysis of samples, including taste testing of finished products.
  • Input recipes on the SAP IT system.

Requirements

  • 5 GCSEs grade C or above, including maths and science.
  • Good laboratory practice experience, if possible.
  • Spoken and written English.
  • UK/EU driving license.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office, Excel).
  • Ability to undertake physical activities.
  • Apply safe working practices.
  • Interest in food and drink beneficial.
  • Being proactive.
