Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Leader Education is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school in Durham.

This school caters for young people aged between 2-19 with a diverse range of special educational needs.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
  • Have experience of working in a transferable role or with SEND.
  • Lead activities with individuals or small groups to facilitate educational development.
  • Be confident in working alongside students, ensuring they are fully supported.
  • Provide a stimulating and well-structured learning environment suitable for pupils with SEND.
  • Be flexible and resilient.
  • Work effectively with parents, carers, and other members of multidisciplinary teams to provide the best support.
  • Possess communication skills that can be personalised to suit students of different abilities.
