We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a welcoming school in Durham. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with a range of abilities and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide tailored support to students in KS3 and KS4, working closely with Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs) to ensure individualized support.
- Engage with students in classroom, 1:1, and small group settings to enhance their learning experience.
- Contribute to extracurricular activities, promoting students' development both inside and outside the classroom.
- Work closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Excellent behaviour management skills, with the ability to manage behaviour in 1:1 and group environments.
- A child-only DBS on the update service or a willingness to apply for one.
- Two professional references from recent employment.
- Desirable but not essential: previous experience supporting young people with additional learning needs or SEN.
