Job Summary:

ProTalent is seeking a highly skilled Audit & Accounts Senior to join our team. As a key member of our accounting practice, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality audit services to our clients.

About the Role:

  • Deliver Audit Files: Ensure that audit files are prepared in accordance with UK GAAP and delivered to clients in a timely manner.
  • Planning and Delivery: Plan and deliver audit assignments, ensuring that all tasks are completed to a high standard and within deadlines.
  • Account Preparation: Prepare limited company accounts for review by managers and directors, ensuring that all financial information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise junior staff during audits, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are able to complete tasks to a high standard.
  • Client Communication: Manage client communication, ensuring that all queries are addressed in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assignment Budgets: Monitor assignment budgets, ensuring that all expenses are tracked and reported accurately.
  • Tax Compliance: Prepare corporation tax computations for review, ensuring that all tax returns are accurate and compliant with relevant regulations.
  • Management Accounts: Prepare management accounts, providing financial information to clients and stakeholders.
  • VAT Returns: Prepare and review VAT returns, ensuring that all financial information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Deficiencies and Concerns: Identify any deficiencies with client records or areas for concern, recommending actions for improvement to managers and directors.
  • Mentorship: Mentor junior accounts and audit trainees, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are able to complete tasks to a high standard.

About You:

  • Academic Background: You will have a strong academic background in accounting or a related field, with experience working within an accounting practice environment.
  • Integrity and Communication: You will display unquestionable integrity, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong logical and analytical skills.
  • Flexibility and Organisation: You will be flexible and organised in managing your own time to deadlines, with the ability to work in a highly professional team environment.
  • Technical Competence: You will have a dedication to technical competence and your own continuing professional development, with the ability to assist more junior team members.
  • Professional Communication: You will have professional and friendly communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and stakeholders.
