As a prominent division of Blyth Harbour Commission, established in 1882, the Port of Blyth is one of the largest Trust Ports in the UK, facilitating cargo handling across four terminals along the River Blyth. With a turnover exceeding £31 million, our operations span various sectors, notably offshore energy, and we are recognized as a key strategic base on the east coast.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise stevedoring operations, ensuring efficient stowage and unloading of vessels.
- Manage daily operations within the port's warehousing, maintaining high standards of performance.
- Motivate and lead your team to achieve operational excellence.
- Adapt to various roles within the operations to support business needs.
Requirements
- Experience in heavy lifting operations and working at height is preferred.
- Flexibility to work seven days a week, including night shifts and holidays, to meet business demands.
- A valid driving license is essential due to the multi-site nature of our operations.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive remuneration package, including:
- Starting salary of £30,000, increasing to £33,000 post-training for a 37.5-hour work week.
- Access to a private medical scheme.
- Participation in a defined contribution pension scheme.
- 33 days of holiday (including 8 statutory days).
- Eligibility for a bonus scheme.
