Assistant Merchandising Manager

Pitch Consultants is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Merchandising Manager to join our team in Staffordshire. This is a brand-new role created to support the product management team within our leading distributor of interior furnishings.

This is a highly commercial and data-driven position where you will be responsible for monitoring critical paths to ensure stock and launch deadlines are managed effectively and on time. You will work closely with buyers, supply-chain, product managers, and the retail merchandising team to ensure promotional activity is effective, stock levels are correct, and discontinued lines are managed out profitably.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Update weekly stock reports and identify potential risks.
  • Nurture close relationships with suppliers and Far East factories to ensure smooth product flow.
  • Analyse sales patterns and ensure stock levels are maintained to hit sales and stock targets.
  • Commercially evaluate potential promotional activities, seasonal and end-of-line promotions, and assess their commercial impact and success.

Requirements:

  • You will have experience in a similar role, such as merchandising, category management, commercial analysis, or product analysis.
  • You will be proficient in Excel at an advanced level and able to analyse data to draw insights.
  • You must be highly data-focused and able to communicate complex information effectively.
  • You will have experience managing relationships with suppliers and customers.
  • You will have worked within a consumer-focused business selling products through retail channels.
