Job Title: Community Support Worker

We are seeking a Community Support Worker to join our team at UKCIL Ltd. The successful candidate will work with a young adult with combined vision and auditory impairments, providing support and empowerment to increase their influence, access their community, and transition to adulthood.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Facilitate social communication skills in peer groups, new situations, and busy/noisy environments.
  2. Access information on social media and the internet.
  3. Build independence skills such as cooking in the home and accessing public transport.

The role involves developing confidence, social communication, and independence skills through fun days out and planned activities, including attending the gym and football club. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, facilitator, and intervenor who is adaptable and a good problem solver.

Person Specification:

We are looking for a flexible worker who is outgoing, enthusiastic, friendly, chatty, and open to new experiences. Relevant training is provided. A driver is required.

Working Hours:

15 hours term time and 25 hours non-term time, mainly evenings and weekends. The hourly rate is £12.00, including holiday pay, paid through the PAYE scheme.
