- Oversee research and development, including engineering and mechanical designs, material selection, and compliance with design codes and contract requirements.
- Collaborate with management, production, and sales staff to discuss project specifications and procedures.
- Coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
- Analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand to plan and assess project feasibility.
- Develop and implement policies, standards, and procedures for engineering and technical work performed in the department.
- Develop, deploy, monitor, and measure internal design standards within engineering sub-groups.
- Inspire, mentor, and grow engineering talent while providing vision and direction for the team.
- Degree/Advanced/Higher Apprenticeship in Engineering Function (Mechanical) and/or equivalent job experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a related mechanical engineering role, preferably in a supervisory or mentoring capacity.
- Experience in mechanical engineering design and analysis, particularly in industrial rotating machinery such as pumps and mixers.
- Strong SolidWorks skills with the ability to conduct analysis using manual or finite element analysis techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, standards, and specifications.
- Comprehensive understanding of mechanical engineering principles associated with rotating equipment design, analysis, and operation.
- Proficient in SolidWorks, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
