Job Title: HR Advisor

We are seeking an experienced HR Advisor to join our team at South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority. As an HR Advisor, you will play a key role in providing support to the People Services Team, assisting in the delivery of an efficient and effective HR Operations service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide professional and customer-focused support to internal and external customers, building and maintaining effective relationships.
  • Support all HR processes in accordance with relevant policies and legislation, maintaining accurate employee records through the HRIS system.
  • Assist in the onboarding of new starters, producing offer letters, contracts of employment, and conducting pre-employment checks.
  • Provide first-line case management support, advice, and guidance to managers on sickness absence, conduct, capability, RTW, and general disciplinary and grievances.
  • Support the administration of the Learning Management System (LMS) and work closely with HR Advisors to ensure all training is up-to-date and relevant.
  • Support the administration of the Annual Performance Review cycle, capturing and storing data via the HRIS system as directed by the Head of HR Operations and HR Advisors.
  • Provide reports and management information as required to support the People Services Team and key SYMCA customers.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working within a HR and Talent Acquisition function.
  • Confidence working on your own initiative and as part of a team, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships at all levels.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to ensure accuracy of work.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize workloads and conflicting demands.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present information clearly.
  • Experience handling confidential and sensitive data.
  • Good practical experience in using Microsoft Office applications.
