Project Manager

The City of Philadelphia's Office of Arts, Culture, and the Creative Economy (OACCE) is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead the Healing Verse Germantown: The Streets Are Talking project. This initiative aims to create a safe and supportive environment for Germantown residents to heal from the trauma of gun violence through community poetry workshops, a poetry phone line, a public art exhibition, and a digital/printed archive.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate all aspects of the project, ensuring timely completion and staying within budget.
  • Oversee project logistics, communications, and community engagement.
  • Work closely with OACCE staff, artistic team, and Germantown community members to achieve project goals.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive project plan, including project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with the public art team to secure sites, receive bids, and oversee the installation of temporary public artworks.
  • Assist with developing, producing, and distributing the project book, which will document the project from start to finish.
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of project management experience, with a focus on community engagement and cultural programming.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing projects, including budgeting, reporting, and tracking project milestones.
  • Experience working with diverse communities, with a strong understanding of Philadelphia's cultural landscape.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
