About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Construction Project Manager to join our team at Balfour Beatty VINCI. As a key member of our Sustainability Function, you will be responsible for managing the construction of a 90km stretch of HS2, Britain's new high-speed railway.

Key Responsibilities

  • Change Management: Develop and implement effective change management strategies to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Programme Management: Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from planning to completion, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Cost Control: Manage project costs, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Land Access: Coordinate with stakeholders to secure land access and permissions for project activities.
  • Subcontractor Management: Supervise and manage subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project requirements and regulations.
  • Subcontract & Framework Procurement: Source and procure subcontractors and frameworks, ensuring best value for the project.
  • Scheduling of Surveys & Monitoring: Plan and execute surveys and monitoring activities to ensure project progress and quality.
  • Purchasing & leasing – Vehicles & Equipment: Source and procure vehicles and equipment, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Subcontractor Records: Maintain accurate records of subcontractor performance and compliance.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of practical experience delivering construction projects.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the delivery and management of NEC contracts.
  • Expert knowledge of current Legislation, BBV's contractual scope, and HS2 Technical Standards & Specifications and the Code of Construction Practice.
  • Previous experience of working within BBV Delivery Teams would be advantageous for the role.
  • Strong collaboration, critical evaluation skills, problem-solving, interpersonal, team-working, listening, communication, and information technology (IT) skills.
