We are seeking a motivated individual eager to embark on a career in cyber security. This apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience while developing essential skills in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in penetration testing and vulnerability assessment of client systems.
- Continuously update knowledge on emerging attack techniques and methodologies.
- Stay informed about the latest advancements in offensive security technologies and practices.
- Participate in research and development initiatives focused on automation and artificial intelligence.
- Commit to ongoing professional and personal growth.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent qualifications is required.
Desired Skills:
While specific technical experience is not mandatory, any background in technology will be beneficial.

Career Progression:
Successful completion of the apprenticeship may lead to a permanent position, contingent on performance.
Training Provided:
Participants will undergo Firebrand's leading Level 4 Cyber Security Technologist Apprenticeship Programme, which equips apprentices with the skills to implement a variety of technical, procedural, and physical measures to monitor, detect, and respond to diverse cyber security threats. Apprentices will learn about cyber risk management and the importance of maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of digital information.
The Cyber Security Technologist Standard offers three distinct pathways:
- Cyber Security Engineer - responsible for designing and implementing security solutions across networks.
- Cyber Risk Analyst - tasked with assessing and mitigating cyber-related risks.
- Cyber Defender & Responder - focused on configuring and monitoring security systems and responding to incidents.
Firebrand's course is delivered through online live instruction. Completing this apprenticeship will also provide participants with globally recognized vendor certifications, including:
- CompTIA Network+
- CompTIA Security+
- EC Council Certified Network Defender
Core Areas of Study:
The apprenticeship covers essential topics such as Networking & Cyber Security Fundamentals, Network Security, Threat and Vulnerability Assessment, Operating System Security, Cryptography, and Information Security Management Frameworks.
