Position Overview:
As a Meat Processing Operations Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the Boning Hall operations at Cranswick Country Foods PLC. Your leadership will ensure that production targets are met while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safeguard the effective operation of all machinery and ensure the proper handling and storage of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with the Departmental Manager/Supervisor to determine the optimal staffing levels necessary to meet customer demands while controlling labor costs.
- Conduct quality assurance checks throughout the packing area and production lines.
- Ensure that production outputs are achieved accurately, economically, and in accordance with established quality benchmarks.
- Verify that all weighing equipment is functioning correctly and accurately.
- Complete all documentation related to yields and waste promptly.
- Perform Critical Control Point (CCP) checks relevant to your area and report any discrepancies through the appropriate channels.
- Engage in the resolution of any CCP non-conformances and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure daily completion of Cockpit boards and provide staff with opportunities for review.
- Maintain strict control over departmental waste and strive to minimize it.
- Work to reduce lost production time to a minimum.
- Uphold health, safety, and hygiene standards in line with company policies and maintain a disciplined work environment.
- Manage job rotation effectively and ensure all related paperwork is completed daily.
- Possess a clear understanding of customer specifications.
- Identify and report maintenance issues within the department.
- Ensure that Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are consistently upheld within the facility.
Candidate Profile:
Essential Qualifications:
- Proficient in spoken and written English.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Strong communication and team leadership abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Keen attention to detail.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Level 3 Award in Food Safety for Manufacturing.
- Multilingual capabilities.
- Familiarity with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP).
- Experience in internal auditing.
- Comprehensive understanding of the company's Quality, Hygiene, and Health & Safety policies.
Working Hours:
- To be confirmed - flexibility may be required to meet operational needs.
