Fleet Workshop Manager/Fleet Controller

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Workshop Manager/Fleet Controller to join our team at Veolia UK. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the management leadership and control of our internal workshop, ensuring the availability of legally compliant and safe vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support operational performance by ensuring the fleet is maintained to the highest standard for effective service delivery.
  • Collate reports on fleet performance, approve quotes for all works carried out, and maintain business relationships with external repair suppliers.
  • Manage a team of up to 20 staff, including skilled fitters, semi-skilled fitters, apprentices, and fleet administrators.
  • Responsible for cost-effective procurement of parts and maintenance of the fleet.
  • Plan and organize work for staff to improve the efficiency of the fleet, reducing accidents and costs while improving standards.
  • Comply with all Company, Health & Safety policies and procedures, creating, communicating, and training staff on policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • HGV Class 2 licence desirable.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
