Scaffold Design Engineer Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Scaffold Design Engineer to join our dynamic team, based in the UK. The successful candidate will bring a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in scaffold design or temporary works and a passion for delivering innovative and practical solutions within the construction industry.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a diverse range of projects, working closely with clients and stakeholders, while playing a key role in the technical delivery of scaffold designs. If you're a proactive problem-solver with excellent communication skills and a commitment to quality, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct comprehensive site surveys and perform structural analysis to ensure accuracy, safety, and compliance with all relevant standards.
  2. Undertake independent design checks and produce supporting calculations using AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel.
  3. Read and reference complete structural drawings to enable the production of project-specific, accurate designs.
  4. Client liaison, both face-to-face and in writing/by phone as necessary.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (we would also be interested to hear from anyone with an HNC in Engineering coupled with working experience of Scaffold Design).
  2. Advanced level use of AutoCAD to produce high-quality design drawings.
  3. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, highly skilled in spreadsheet production and formulae, to produce supporting calculations.
  4. Relevant experience working with structural analysis software tools in line with current standards.
  5. Competent at reading and interpreting complex structural drawings.
  6. Friendly, collaborative outlook, which will be invaluable in establishing and building client relationships.
  7. Skilled at communicating effectively with clients on the telephone and face-to-face.
