Job Summary

As an Automotive Light Vehicle Technical Trainer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training to apprentices and commercial delegates at our GTG training centre in Wolverhampton. You will need to have a proven track record of working in light vehicle maintenance and be able to demonstrate knowledge of the latest technology, including electrical diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver training and education in a safe and effective manner, adhering to health and safety, COSHH, and other mandatory regulations
  • Use appropriate training methods and prepare and use training aids as needed
  • Assist the Team Leader and Automotive Training Manager in maintaining discipline and ensuring trainees comply with company policy
  • Map progress, underpinning knowledge, and complete awarding body documentation
  • Assess trainees' knowledge, skills, and behaviours according to standards set by awarding bodies and the Sector Skills Council
  • Assist in developing training and assessment processes and resources
  • Ensure trainees receive training using current methods and stay up-to-date with technological developments and vocational CPD
  • Provide welfare support and guidance to apprentices and employers

Essential Skills

  • Industry-recognised qualification in Automotive Maintenance and Repair Level 3 Light Vehicle or equivalent
  • English and Maths at Level 2 or equivalent
  • Proven track record with electrical diagnosis and ability to use modern automotive technology
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Enthusiasm and commitment
  • Full UK driving licence for subject specialism
  • Teaching qualification (training and qualification will be offered if not)
  • Recent English and Maths experience (training and qualification will be offered if not)
  • Experience of working with apprentices or young people
  • Assessing or TAQA qualification
  • First aid
