About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team at Thames Water. As a Mechanical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our mechanical equipment and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct scheduled planned maintenance work on mechanical equipment, including pumps, valves, and measurement systems, to ensure compliance with company standards and procedures.
- Investigate plant failures and conduct repairs to minimize downtime and ensure optimal system performance.
- Provide technical advice and support to colleagues, referring to up-to-date technical knowledge and best practices.
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical engineering qualification.
- Physically fit, with the ability to work in confined spaces and complete necessary training.
- Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues, with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Ability to participate in a 24/7 out-of-hours standby rota, with additional payment for this service.
- Valid driving license, with a willingness to use a company-provided vehicle.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary, up to £36,800 per annum, depending on experience and skills.
- 24 days holiday per year, increasing to 28 days with length of service, plus bank holidays.
- Contributory pension scheme, with a maximum employee contribution of 12%.
