Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Primary School Support

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at a dynamic and welcoming primary school in Plymouth. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers in delivering and planning lessons, providing assistance to students in small groups and one-on-one, and helping to create a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in delivering and planning lessons, including preparing teaching materials and classroom resources.
  • Provide support to students in small groups and one-on-one, helping with academic and social-emotional development.
  • Help create a supportive and engaging learning environment, promoting a positive attitude and patience among students.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members to achieve educational goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience and qualifications in a similar role are desirable, but not essential.
  • An understanding of supporting others and working in care would be highly transferable.
  • A genuine desire to work with children and support their educational journey.
  • A positive attitude, patience, and empathy are essential for this role.
  • An understanding and commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of children is paramount.
