Job Title: 1:1 Behavioural Support Staff

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Behavioural Support Staff to join our team at a SEN Primary School in Bedford. The successful candidate will provide high-quality support to students with severe and complex learning difficulties and health needs.

Job Summary:

The Behavioural Support Staff will work closely with class teachers and senior LSA's to prepare resources and provide 1:1 support to students. The role involves working with students to understand their learning goals and targets, enabling them to practice and learn new skills, and challenging them to be as independent as possible.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting class teachers and senior LSA's with resource preparation and 1:1 support
  • Working with students to understand their learning goals and targets
  • Providing 1:1 support to students under the supervision of class teachers
  • Reporting on student progress using an evidence-based approach
  • Ensuring student wellbeing and ability to function and engage in learning
  • Implementing safeguarding policies and procedures
Requirements:

A minimum of GCSE qualifications in English and Maths is required. Prior experience working in a similar role within an educational setting is ideal but not necessary. The successful candidate will have initiative, organisational skills, and prioritisation skills to manage tasks efficiently and handle multiple responsibilities.
