We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Anaesthetist to join our team at the Nuffield Department of Anaesthetics, Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will have a strong interest in Orthopaedics, Trauma, and Regional Anaesthesia.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an anaesthetist to develop their career in a major teaching hospital with a reputation for excellence in complex trauma, interventional radiology, and major surgery. The successful candidate will be part of a friendly, diverse, and inclusive anaesthetics team, supported by outstanding surgical colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality anaesthetic care to patients undergoing complex trauma, orthopaedic, and other surgical procedures
  • Develop and maintain expertise in Regional Anaesthesia
  • Contribute to the development of the department's clinical services and research activities
  • Participate in on-call duties and contribute to the Horton on-call group
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Consultant-level experience in anaesthetics
  • Strong interest in Orthopaedics, Trauma, and Regional Anaesthesia
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
