Kent County Council is seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to join our team as a Road Crossing Patrol. As a key member of our community, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe passage of school children and other pedestrians at specific sites.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate the school crossing patrol point in a safe manner, identifying hazards and risks to children, carers, and drivers.
- Maintain appropriate relationships with children, controlling the movement of groups at the crossing point to ensure their personal safety.
- Report incidents occurring while on duty to the Safer Active Journeys Team and maintain accurate records of working time and absences.
- Ability to demonstrate traffic awareness and a sense of responsibility.
- Basic IT skills and a personal email address.
- Uniform provided to protect against the elements.
The successful applicant will work hours dependent on the school site, with various positions available at different schools in the County. Most roles would be suitable for job share arrangements, e.g., mornings/afternoons.
Salary:The successful applicant will be paid within the Kent Scheme Grade KR3, currently pro-rata £12.09/hour for the hours worked; £23,337 for full-time equivalent appointment.
