- Your role will involve providing timely and effective recommendations for hedging strategies to mitigate interest rate risk across various business units and treasury operations.
- You will oversee interest rate risk associated with NatWest's substantial fixed-rate mortgage portfolio and other essential product lines.

Daily Activities:
As an Interest Rate Risk Specialist, you will lead the bank's product hedging initiatives to ensure that financial implications are accurately reflected at the product level within the relevant business units. You will collaborate with various departments to establish suitable hedging strategies and prepare comprehensive interest rate risk reports and analyses.
Your daily tasks will include:
- Conducting and documenting regular discussions with business units to evaluate new business opportunities and determine hedging needs.
- Designing and executing the risk management framework, formulating key assumptions regarding the impact of interest rate fluctuations on customer interactions with our offerings.
- Delivering monthly risk assessments across the fixed-rate product spectrum for retail and small business sectors, along with weekly insights into anticipated business activities and their effects on hedging strategies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
We are looking for candidates with a thorough understanding of interest rate risk, complemented by strong product knowledge in retail and commercial offerings as well as derivatives. Proficiency in SQL or Access, along with demonstrated experience in financial modeling using Excel, is essential.
Additionally, candidates should possess:
- The capability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines while adapting to changes in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, enabling effective interaction with colleagues at all organizational levels, including senior management.
- The ability to perform under pressure while maintaining a flexible approach to work responsibilities.
