Position Overview

The Dakota Hotel in Glasgow City Centre is in search of a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to fill the role of Breakfast Chef de Partie. This position is ideal for those who thrive in a morning environment and are committed to delivering high-quality culinary experiences.

CONTRACT AND COMPENSATION

The role offers a competitive pay rate of £14.65 per hour, with weekly payments leading to a guaranteed gross annual salary of £30,400, inclusive of expected tronc payments.

This is a permanent position with a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week. Typical working hours are from 05:30 to 14:00, across any five days of the week.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Effectively manage and execute a busy breakfast service.
  • Prepare and cook dishes according to the standards set by the Head Chef.
  • Oversee the preparation and creation of Team Food for lunch and dinner, following the Team Food Menu.
  • Exhibit a willingness to learn and assist in various kitchen areas.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of Health & Safety and Food Hygiene regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with all kitchen and front-of-house staff, ensuring clear communication.
  • Conduct thorough cleaning of the kitchen to uphold a pristine working environment.
  • Demonstrate the ability to multitask and remain composed during peak service times.
  • Prepare for breakfast service and set up the assigned section for lunch service.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of three years of professional cooking experience in a full-service restaurant as a Demi Chef or Chef de Partie.
  • Preferred qualifications in Food Safety, with training provided in Health & Safety, Allergens, and Food Hygiene standards.
  • The ability to work independently during service, maintaining composure under pressure.
  • A morning-oriented mindset, with flexibility for early shifts.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and work efficiently.
  • A positive attitude that promotes a culture of enthusiasm.
  • A strong attention to detail and pride in culinary work.
  • Flexibility in shift patterns to meet business needs.
