About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our Change Delivery Team at Hiscox. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading project management activities, including benefit identification, plan management, tracking and reporting of delivery progress, and ensuring that change is embedded and sustained by utilising Change Management tools and techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead project management activities, including benefit identification, plan management, tracking and reporting of delivery progress, and ensuring that change is embedded and sustained by utilising Change Management tools and techniques.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to create stakeholder, communication, and learning plans, and manage the day-to-day and full end-to-end project delivery activities.
- Define resource plans and work closely with internal teams, stakeholders, and vendors to manage the day-to-day and full end-to-end project delivery activities.
- Manage project scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed time, cost, and quality parameters.
- Define and track project milestones and ensure dependencies are understood and accepted by the relevant owners.
- Remove barriers and lead resolution of issues/problems to enable teams to achieve the objectives.
- Oversee the agreed budget and ensure tracking and measurement of costs as well as reporting on benefits.
- Ensure projects adhere to the Hiscox Change Delivery Framework and foster project transparency as well as accurate and timely reports on project status, schedule, and costs to the Portfolio Manager and PMO.
- Manage projects across the entire UK change portfolio, which may require managing multiple projects simultaneously and/or managing a series of dependent projects.
- Provide support and input into the portfolio planning process by engaging in pre-project sizing, skillset, and dependency mapping.
- Build strong productive relationships within the business, the change team, and with third parties in order to deliver effective solutions.
Requirements
- More than 3 years of Project Management experience in the financial services industry and a track record of successfully delivering projects.
- A passion for leading people through change.
- Excellent stakeholder, conflict, and influence management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of working with people at all levels within and external to the business.
- MS Project or other structured project management tools.
- Experience working as a Project Manager in a multiple project environment with challenging timeframes and deliverables.
- Experience working with distributed teams and relationship building with stakeholders.
- Experience with the full project life cycle, from inception to user acceptance testing, deployment, and handover to BAU.
- Knowledge of PM best practices, methodologies, and project governance principles.
- Experience with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
- Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and similar tools.
- Intellect and gravitas to influence and gain credibility with business personnel and management.
- Be creative, proactive, logical, and innovative and will not just accept the status quo.
- Be highly results-driven, with the energy and determination to succeed in a very fast-paced environment where the pace of response and leadership is critical to success.
