We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Maths Mentor to join our team at Axiom Maths. As a Maths Mentor, you will play a vital role in delivering our maths circles programme at Barnsley Academy, working with small groups of pupils to improve their maths skills and confidence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maths Circles Delivery: Deliver high-quality maths circles sessions to small groups of pupils, using our training videos and mentor guidance to prepare and deliver impactful sessions.
- Reporting and Feedback: Report weekly on pupils' attendance and provide feedback on curriculum resources, as well as providing termly progress reports and completing a termly mentor survey.
- General: Safeguard and promote the welfare of the pupils, adhere to data protection, confidentiality, and IT policies, and attend initial and ongoing training and engage in our quality assurance process.
Requirements:
- Passion for Maths: You are passionate about maths and have a strong conceptual understanding of the subject.
- STEM Background: You are pursuing or have completed a STEM degree or have equivalent experience.
- Experience with Young People: You have experience working with young people and can travel to the school.
- Alignment with Axiom Maths Ethos: You align with the Axiom Maths ethos and are committed to our mission of helping every child with the heart and head for maths realise their potential.
What We Offer:
- Competitive Fee: We pay a competitive fee of £45 per session, inclusive of preparation, delivery, and reporting and feedback.
- Additional Training: You will receive additional paid training to support your development as a Maths Mentor.
