We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist/Counselling Psychologist or Psychotherapist to join our dynamic team at North East London NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist psychodynamic assessments and interventions to adults with complex mental health difficulties.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and develop treatment plans for patients with complex mental health needs.
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions to patients, using evidence-based psychodynamic approaches.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective communication and decision-making.
  • Offer consultation and supervision to colleagues on the psychological aspects of risk assessment and management.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of training programs for trainee clinical or counselling psychologists.
Requirements:
  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or Counselling Psychology (or equivalent) with a specialism in psychodynamic psychotherapy.
  • Registration with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
  • Experience of working with high levels of risk and severe mental health difficulties.
  • Knowledge of psychodynamic theory and practice, including the use of complex methods of psychological assessment and intervention.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
  • Additional specialist post-graduate training in areas such as MBT, EMDR, or Schema Therapy.
  • Experience of providing training and supervision to colleagues.
  • Knowledge of research methodology and data analysis.
