About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel to join our team at Wolters Kluwer Financial Services United Kingdom Ltd. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a critical role in supporting our international business in EMEA, the US, and APAC in the Finance, Risk, and Regulatory Reporting Software market.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on legal assistance in structuring and drafting, negotiating, interpreting, managing, and enforcing complex commercial transactions, including software license and SaaS agreements.
  • Negotiate high-value deals with banks and large financial institutions across EMEA in English, with other European languages such as French being an advantage.
  • Help educate business teams on contracting forms, intellectual property rights, and commercial and legal risks.
  • Provide legal counseling on corporate, commercial, and intellectual property matters impacting our businesses, including SaaS, on-premise software license, and professional service offerings.
  • Counsel on regulatory and compliance matters, including the European Banking Authorities' outsourcing guidelines, the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA), data privacy regulations, and sanctions.
  • Develop strong relationships with our international sales team.

Requirements

  • Law degree from a recognized institution.
  • Ability to negotiate complex contracts in English, with additional European languages being an advantage.
  • Experience negotiating with customers in the financial services industry.
  • Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible corporate/commercial legal experience.
  • Experience in a prominent law firm or corporate law department of a medium-to-large-sized company.
  • Hands-on experience drafting and negotiating sophisticated commercial contracts and technology agreements.
  • Ability to conduct negotiations in a global, matrixed environment managing urgent priorities from multiple stakeholders.
