As the Senior Technical Interface Coordinator, you will be responsible for the development and execution of a comprehensive interface management strategy within HS2 and its supply chain. This role serves as a central point for HS2's strategic initiatives in technical interface management, collaborating with various teams across HS2's delivery organizations to ensure seamless integration across different disciplines and contracts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the strategic direction for interface management across HS2, ensuring that appropriate resources, tools, and processes are established.
  • Accountable for the ownership, revision, and implementation of the HS2-wide framework and procedures outlined in the Interface Management Plan.
  • Oversee the procurement, deployment, and maintenance of a comprehensive software application for interface management across HS2.
  • Ensure that interface engineers and managers possess the requisite skills and knowledge to meet interface management objectives, establishing competence levels necessary for the planned interface management tasks.
  • Identify and prioritize interface resolution issues for escalation to the relevant decision-making bodies.
  • Provide training and guidance to the broader HS2 organization on effective interface management practices.
  • Develop and promote best practices and innovative engineering methodologies, driving consistency and identifying efficiency opportunities across delivery teams.
  • Conduct audits to assess the application of interface management processes within HS2 and its supply chain.
  • Actively advocate for and integrate Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) principles in all aspects of your work, supporting organizational policies and initiatives on EDI.
Candidate Profile:

Essential Skills:
  • Ability to deliver specialized technical support and leadership on discipline-specific scientific, technical, and engineering principles to project teams, while recognizing when to consult other Subject Matter Experts.
  • Capable of serving as a Standard Owner under the guidance of the Standard Discipline Owner.
  • Meets the annual Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements for a professional institution.
  • Effective communication of discipline-specific technical concepts to colleagues, primarily through practical examples.
  • Knowledgeable in principles related to standards, safety, and environmental considerations.
  • Applies effective information management, modeling, and data security principles, understanding the implications of data creation and visualization.
  • Ability to define discipline-specific criteria.
Knowledge Requirements:
  • Familiarity with applicable UK construction regulations, including CDM requirements.
  • Understanding of the regulatory and legislative framework relevant to HS2.
  • Commercial awareness, including insights into cost delivery, scheduling targets, and the necessity for integrated solutions that fulfill all functional requirements.
  • Comprehension of various other disciplines.
  • Chartered Engineer status or membership in a relevant professional institution, or equivalent experience.
Experience:
  • Proven experience in managing standards, engineering, and safety activities on engineering projects or programs.
  • Experience in balancing competing project and engineering demands, considering cost and schedule implications.
