Medical Oncology Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Medical Oncologist to join our team at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality medical oncology services to patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and care. This will involve working closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:- Medical Oncology Management: Provide specialist diagnosis, treatment, and care to patients with breast malignancy, including medical oncology management.
- Acute Oncology Service: Contribute to the Acute Oncology Service, led by a team of acute oncology nurses, and undertake ward reviews and offer oncology advice as necessary.
- Clinic Reviews: Conduct clinic reviews and provide expert advice on oncology-related matters.
- Outpatient Chemotherapy and Inpatient Clinical Opinions: Provide outpatient chemotherapy and inpatient clinical opinions, ensuring high-quality care for patients.
- On-Call Service: Participate in the out-of-hours on-call service, providing advice on oncology inpatients and offering oncology advice to other teams.
- Research and Clinical Trials: Take an active role in research and clinical trials, contributing to the development of new treatments and therapies.
- Clinical Governance: Contribute actively to clinical governance within the department, ensuring high standards of care and patient safety.
- Quality Improvement Projects: Support and develop quality improvement projects within the department, improving patient outcomes and services.
- Teaching and Training: Actively participate in the department's teaching programme, supervising, teaching, and training medical trainees and other multi-professional staff.
- Clinical Guidelines Development: Participate in clinical guidelines development, audit, and CPD, ensuring successful revalidation when required.
