Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be accountable for delivering comprehensive nursing care to our entire patient base. The role emphasizes evidence-based practices for managing patients with chronic conditions, as well as promoting preventive health measures. As an independent practitioner, the Clinical Nurse Specialist will oversee the quality of care provided, showcasing critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills in patient management. Collaboration with the healthcare team is essential to address patient needs, uphold organizational policies, and provide leadership within the nursing staff.

Qualifications
Essential:
- Registered first-level nurse
- Specialist qualification in community nursing or equivalent
- Relevant nursing or health-related degree
Desirable:
- Mentorship or teaching qualification
- Experience in clinical supervision
- Independent nurse prescribing qualification
Experience
Essential:
- Experience in practice nursing
Desirable:
- Minimum of three years post-registration experience
- At least two years of recent experience in primary and community nursing
- Experience in managing long-term conditions
- Familiarity with implementing clinical protocols and guidelines
- Experience in quality improvement initiatives
- Audit experience
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

- Understanding of managing patients with chronic conditions
- Awareness of accountability in a nurse-led service
- Knowledge of health promotion strategies and policies
- Awareness of the broader health economy
- Change management skills to support patient lifestyle modifications
