  • Analyze production issues through data evaluation and product disassembly.
  • Provide regular updates on project status to the line manager.
  • Conduct risk assessments and COSHH evaluations.
  • Collaborate with the R&D Electrochemist to conduct research, analyze results, and suggest design enhancements to meet performance objectives.
  • Follow a structured schedule to prepare, execute, monitor, and report on ongoing testing.
  • Contribute to the creation of project documentation, including research studies, technical analyses, test plans, reports, and presentations for the R&D manager and New Technologies team.
  • Develop experimental hypotheses and carry out tests independently or as part of a team.
  • Generate and report data to the R&D Manager within established timelines.
  • Participate in occasional out-of-hours meetings with the Australian team.

Laboratory Administration Duties:
  • Maintain and update laboratory procedures and test logs.
  • Conduct risk assessments and manage lab facilities, equipment, and inventory.
  • Ensure the safe handling and storage of hazardous materials and waste.

To qualify for this role, candidates must possess a degree (BSc/MChem or equivalent) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related discipline. While prior experience is not mandatory, any relevant internships or positions will be advantageous.

Essential Skills:
  • Solid understanding of chemical formulation, testing, and development.
  • A strong commitment to health and safety practices, with familiarity in COSHH.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and adaptable individual with keen attention to detail and a collaborative spirit.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Desirable Skills:
  • Experience in planning and executing R&D projects using scientific methodologies.
  • Background in new product development from concept to market.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, R, Python).
  • Experience with electrochemical techniques.
