Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Develop and implement individualized support plans for students with SEND, in collaboration with teachers, parents, and external agencies.
    • Lead and manage a team of support staff to ensure effective delivery of SEND services.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive and collaborative support for students with SEND.
    • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure that all parties are informed and engaged in the support process.
  • Professional Development
    • Stay up-to-date with current SEND legislation, best practices, and research to ensure that our college remains compliant and at the forefront of inclusive education.
    • Develop and deliver training and professional development opportunities for staff to enhance their knowledge and skills in supporting students with SEND.
Requirements
  • Experience and Qualifications
    • Significant experience in a SENCO or similar role within an educational setting.
    • Proven ability to develop and manage individualized support plans.
    • In-depth knowledge of SEND legislation, including the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • A collaborative approach to working with stakeholders.
