Job Description:
We are seeking a patient and nurturing SEN teaching assistant to join our welcoming two-form entry Infant & Nursery School in Kings Norton. The successful candidate will be supporting a small group of up to 5 children with SEN in both the EYFS provision and class settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting children with SEN, including those who are non-verbal, in developing their communication and interaction skills through play-based activities.
- Working closely with the class teacher and other support staff to ensure the children receive the best possible support.
- Assisting with the planning and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) for children with SEN.
- Providing a safe and supportive learning environment that promotes the children's social, emotional, and academic development.
Requirements:
- Level 2 or 3 qualified and/or a minimum of 12 months' experience in an educational or nursery establishment.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEN, including ASD and non-verbal children.
- Knowledge of the UK EYFS and Key Stage One primary curriculum.
- A calm, patient, and caring persona.
- Good communication skills.
- A good understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines.
