Role Overview

The London Borough of Croydon is dedicated to providing exceptional services to children and families through our social work professionals. We aim for our staff to uphold high standards and expectations in their practice. We are excited to announce several openings for Social Workers within our Family Assessment Service. This service is responsible for handling cases referred from our Front Door (MASH). Social Workers will conduct Child and Family Assessments, develop family plans, and, when necessary, collaborate with families to facilitate the implementation of these plans. Additionally, Social Workers will undertake S47 Child Protection Enquiries and work alongside various partner organizations to ensure the safety and well-being of children and young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establishing effective relationships to foster positive change.
  • Identifying and leveraging family strengths.
  • Managing complex case loads with professionalism.
  • Conducting comprehensive Child and Family assessments.
  • Engaging directly with children, young people, and their families while demonstrating strong multi-agency collaboration.
  • Exhibiting excellent analytical and writing skills, integrating our systemic practice model focused on family strengths and protective factors.
  • Utilizing effective time management to meet deadlines.
