Position Summary:

As a Software Engineer III, you will play a key role in our development team, working on software requirements, design, implementation, and integration. You will participate in requirements review, design reviews, code reviews, test case reviews, and team meetings.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in development team activities, including requirements review, design reviews, code reviews, test case reviews, and team meetings.
  • Work on software requirements, design, implementation, and integration.
  • Create and maintain software requirement/functional specifications.
  • Identify interfaces between software components and/or hardware.
  • Create and maintain software (component) design documentation.
  • Develop software source code that adheres to design documentation.
  • Perform unit testing and/or code reviews as per project policy.
  • Perform integration testing to ensure software functions within application and with devices.
  • Evaluate, investigate, and implement fixes to assigned software defects.
  • Evaluate, investigate, and implement assigned software change proposals.

Key Relationships:

You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including software developers and testers. You will provide level of effort for assigned software activities, track personal estimates over time, and effectively communicate technical information to the team.

Skills & Capabilities:

The ideal candidate for this position will exhibit strong written and oral communications skills, proficiency in software engineering tools, and ability to operate instrumentation. You will also have experience with C++, Linux, and Qt.

Qualifications:

Minimum Knowledge & Experience Required for the Position:

Education:

  • Associates Degree plus typically 4 to 10 years of related experience or Bachelor's Degree plus typically 4 to 8 years of related experience or Master's Degree plus typically 2 to 6 years of related experience or waiver based on experience.

Experience:

  • Proficiency in computer code (C, C++, Java, C#, etc.) found in product development.

Additional Skills/Knowledge:

  • Proficiency with a personal computer and software packages.
  • Ability to use software engineering tools: configuration, requirements, and defect management.
  • Ability to handle many software components.
  • Language: English.

Travel Requirements:

  • < 5% of the time.
