Pelsis Group is seeking an experienced Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Supply Chain and Procurement department, you will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies to meet business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Sourcing Strategy and Planning
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for direct and indirect commodities to meet business objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify sourcing needs, market trends, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Supplier Management
- Evaluate, select, and manage suppliers to ensure the highest quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, conducting regular performance reviews and driving continuous improvement.
- Negotiation and Contract Management
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favourable terms, pricing, and conditions.
- Monitor and manage contracts to ensure compliance with terms and conditions, as well as to identify opportunities for renegotiation and cost reduction.
- Cost Optimization and Budgeting
- Analyse cost structures and recommend cost-saving initiatives, including value engineering and alternate sourcing strategies.
- Develop and manage budgets related to commodity sourcing activities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and financial targets.
- Risk Management
- Identify and mitigate potential risks related to supply chain disruptions, supplier capacity, geopolitical issues, and other relevant factors.
- Develop contingency plans and risk mitigation strategies to maintain a resilient supply chain.
- Compliance and Regulations
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies related to procurement and sourcing activities.
- Stay informed about changes in regulations that may impact the sourcing and procurement process.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Establish / deliver / maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and track supplier performance, cost savings, and other relevant metrics.
- Generate regular reports and dashboards to communicate performance and provide insights for strategic decision-making.
Requirements
- Membership of an appropriate professional body would be advantageous.
- Significant experience in a low to medium volume manufacturing environment.
- Experience of working in and on Supply Chain & Quality Assurance.
- Six Sigma / Lean skills.
- Experience of dealing first hand with customers and suppliers.
- Demonstrated experience of problem-solving techniques, best cost country sourcing.
- Logistics and internals freight.
- Complies with the Health, Safety and Environmental Policies.
