About the Role

Campden BRI is a leading commercial analytical laboratory providing testing services for the food and drink industry. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Laboratory Scientist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake analysis in our Chemistry laboratories of food & drink samples, focusing on chromatography and associated activities.
  • Book in samples, prepare samples, and report results to clients.
  • Conduct routine analysis of food stuffs and associated materials using instrumental methods.
  • Produce accurate laboratory records, calculate results, and collate data for inclusion in scientific reports.
  • Ensure all aspects of quality are managed according to Campden BRI standards.
  • Respond to client inquiries relating to testing within the section.
  • Train and supervise junior staff as required.
  • Maintain and calibrate equipment, including GC-MS, LC-MS, and HPLC systems.
Requirements
  • Degree in Chemistry or a related field.
  • Experience of using initiative and taking responsibility.
  • Interest in food & drink analytical chemistry.
  • Competent in the use of Excel and Word.
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment.
  • Ability to undertake routine analysis with minimal supervision.
  • Good organizational skills for managing workload and complex projects.
  • Well-developed communication skills.
